The workflow

How LinkSumo works

Find where a site loses earned link value and turn the findings into a prioritized repair list.

Analyze a domain

1. Check incoming links

Look for backlinks pointing to deleted, moved, or incorrect URLs. A useful repair may be restoring a page, mapping its old URL to a relevant replacement, or asking a linking site to update its link.

2. Review redirects and internal links

Identify missing redirects and routes that send visitors through unnecessary hops. Compare the destination with the original intent, then link directly to the final, relevant page from your own site.

3. Find overlooked pages

Orphan pages can exist in a sitemap but have no incoming internal links. Review whether each page is useful. Give useful pages contextual navigation; remove or consolidate pages that no longer serve visitors.

4. Apply and verify repairs

Work through the list in order of impact. After each change, test the destination, canonical URL, and internal navigation, then run a fresh crawl to confirm the issue is resolved.
